Traveling to Sweden for Top Surgery: A Guide for International Patients

Most international patients stay in Stockholm for 1 to 7 days around their top surgery. Consultations are available digitally before you travel, the clinic sits in the center of Stockholm with easy transport access, and your standard follow-up is scheduled 6-7 days after surgery — though we accommodate an earlier visit if you need to leave sooner.

How long do I need to stay in Stockholm?

Most patients stay between 1 and 7 days. Your first in-person follow-up is normally planned for 6 to 7 days after surgery, so many patients build their trip around that visit. If you need to travel home sooner, we accommodate an earlier follow-up appointment before you leave, so you are cleared to fly before you go.

What do I need to bring?

Nothing unusual — the one requirement is your ID or passport, which you need to pick up your post-operative prescriptions at the pharmacy. There is no special preparation or paperwork beyond what is covered at your consultation.

Where should I stay?

The clinic is beautifully located in the center of Stockholm, and we offer discounted rates at a number of hotels in the surrounding area. Ask your coordinator for current hotel recommendations when you book your surgery date.

How do I get to the clinic?

Arlanda is the closest airport, around 30 minutes from the clinic. Because the clinic is centrally located, it is also easy to reach by subway, bus, or train — all of which stop within a block of the clinic.

What about consultations and follow-up care?

Your initial consultation can be done digitally before you travel, so your surgery date and trip are planned before you ever arrive. Once you are home, most recovery follow-ups can also be done digitally — your care does not stop when your trip ends.
